All fall I've been painting at my studio table in small circles, foxes curled up in the snow, moose tangled in holiday lights, cardinals tucked into the aspens and wolves singing to the moon, and now they have a chance to go home with you! This is my seventh year of ornaments, and every single year they have sold out, and quickly. Each one is a hand painted original, a one of one, and when it's gone it's gone.
This year I tried something new and painted on copper, and they are my favorite so far! Among them are fire horses galloping across the copper, a nod to 2026, our Year of the Fire Horse. Copper is hard to capture in a photo, because the light moves across it as the ornament turns, so they shine even more in person, catching the glow of the tree lights every time they spin.

Wood ornaments are mostly painted on watercolor paper with a beautiful torn deckle edge, then adhered to wood, which keeps the image from cracking, and varnished. A few of the aspen paintings are painted directly on the wood, so the grain becomes part of the painting. Each one measures between 3.5" and 4" in diameter.
Copper ornaments are hand painted and lightly etched, then varnished, and they glow when the light hits them. These take the most time and material, and honestly they were some of my favorite things I made all year. Each one is 4" in diameter.
Every ornament is signed on the back and dated 2026, so it can come out of the box each December as a small marker of the year it arrived.
Custom ornaments let you choose a pet, a favorite animal, your home or a place you love. After checkout, email your photos and details to jessicamahanart@gmail.com, and I will paint and ship your ornament before Christmas.
Shipping: One of a kind ornaments ship within 2 to 5 business days, so they arrive in plenty of time for those of you who like your tree up early. International orders are welcome, with shipping calculated at checkout.
