The sky that evening was a full orchestra of gold, magenta, rose, all playing at once across the horizon. The rocks silhouetted against that blaze, the water below catching and reflecting every color in horizontal strokes like sound waves. This is one of my most vibrant paintings. It was inspired by a trip to Matador Beach State Park in California.
