Standing in a lavender field with Mt. Hood rising above, those converging rows of purple drawing the eye toward the snow capped peak, the sky alive with movement. This was inspired by a trip to Lavender Valley Farms in Mt. Hood, Oregon. It was a hot August day and I was picking my own lavender and listening to the buzzing bees all around me. I amplified the colors in certain areas to lead the eye around the piece and to evoke the feeling of having been there on that hot summer day.
